The UK currently throws away around 3 billion disposable nappies every year.  They are estimated to weigh 690,000 tonnes and most will end up in landfill.  In addition, the general acceptance of disposable nappies perpetuates a throw away lifestyle which is damaging to the environment and places an unnecessary financial burden on young families

Knowledge and awareness of washable nappies is still relatively low due to minimal market penetration. This follows a general consumer shift to convenience products, extensive marketing of disposable products, poor exposure through traditional retail routes and a wide, often confusing, range of product designs and brands.
GO REAL exists to promote the use of washable or reusable nappies nationally; it aims to raise awareness of the benefits, types, modern styles, and how to use; advocating a range of advice and choices. 

GO REAL strives to deliver clear and independent information to address myths surrounding washable nappies and build awareness through promotions and services developed to support a range of stakeholders including:

Background

Following success in running the Cornish Real Nappy Campaign, Rezolve Kernow were contracted to deliver the practical aspects of the ongoing national Real Nappy Campaign, undertake research and  develop a business plan for the future campaign.
